Well written. Maybe one day when I feel it is safe enough, I will have a night out. Until then, my self isolation will continue.

Solitude prepared me well for the pandemic social distancing, at least. You've got to find happy nuggets wherever you can.

I have had hate in my heart before, but it's not something I want to hold onto. I can't understand what drives these people to a feeling that is so uncomfortable to experience. What do the haters get out of it? Aren't they exhausted?

LOVE OF HATE? That seems to be the case.

I just don't get it.

They thrive on the hate. It fuels them like love fuels the rest of us. They keep it in their hearts and listen to those who propagate it. When we show love, even to those who hate us, we may be able to change those hearts a little at a time. But until we stop the hateful rhetoric coming from our government officials and some “news” media, it will continue to fester like a boil. Prosecute these people for inciting violence and let them experience the consequences of their words and actions.

If a politician posts a hateful comment and someone kills because of it, that lawmaker is morally, if not legally culpable.

The Responsible Discourse Act to curb hate speech in politics would be appropriate.
