Unfortunately exec team at Substack treats Taibbi as a hero. He gets the most $ than anybody on Substack. Imagine that his lying, incendiary and his false narrative garners top paid $ for his lies? His followers harass & insult the serious anti fascist professional writers here and exec team is more protective of incendiary than skilled professional writing. 2nd highest earning is Heather Cox Richardson, the EXACT opposite of Taibbi w/truth as a revered Professor of History.

I watched that interview last night, and I have never been more entertained by a debate before. Taibbi had no idea who he was dealing with or what to expect, and he was utterly unprepared.

As for Twitter, it's turning into a cesspool. I don't blame you for pulling out.

Whenever Musk censors someone who believes libertarianism necessarily ends like a Monopoly Game, he loses a Tesla customer. Anyone who says anything Musk doesn't like is removed from Twitter. He takes pride in being the chief censor for the right-wing, plutocrats.

Excellent summary of the #MattyLovesDickPics fall from Grace. Glad to hear you won’t be stopping these newsletters as your integrity leads to to abandon Substack. Nice of Matty to provide such a clear example to everyone of how the far left and far right are merely adjacent on a circle

“Hostile rival”. In business that usually means some sort of executive push and pull, machinations behind the scenes, wars over talent, that sort of thing. In todays business world it’s tantamount to a bunch of kindergartners duking it out on the playground. The more repressive (or oppressive!) the fringe gets, the more regressive they get, and that used to mean mainly Republicans. Now it includes either end of the circle ⭕️ which never manages to quite align but hasn’t broken away yet. I loved Matt’s years at Rolling Stone, especially the beginning. Early Obama years I was scratching my head. Now I’m pretty well convinced Matt the adult is not Matt the young scribe. Question is which one is he really? And how have I changed in that time?
